Remembering Eddie Bond, T-3

In the early morning hours of Thursday, October 24th, 1978, Officer Eddie Bond was on routine patrol when he discovered a suspicious vehicle in town. Officer Bond approached the vehicle, and had a brief conversation with a man, who became irrational. Bond offered to let the man go home to cool down. As Officer Bond was walking back to his patrol car, the man shot Officer Bond in the back with a .30-30 hunting rifle. Officer Bond's watch ended that night, as he passed away from the injury. Today we reflect back on his memory by honoring him. His badge number, T-3, has been retired from use, and today officers wear a patch on their shoulder that display the T-3 badge.
